Noahlogy Partners with AVEVA.　Streamlining Shipbuilding Design Review with 3D CAD and AI

Noahlogy, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yusuke Fukushige), a company specializing in AI solutions for the maritime industry, has signed an AVEVA Partner Ecosystem Member Agreement with AVEVA Software, LLC (“AVEVA”), a UK-based global leader in industrial software that drives digital transformation and sustainability. Through development and validation work toward integration with AVEVA, Noahlogy aims to bring shipbuilding design support using 3D CAD data (*1) into practical use.

Going forward, Noahlogy will verify, one by one, which types of data and check items AI can assess accurately, and will build a system that fits naturally into everyday design work. Development will be carried out through repeated validation based on the real challenges faced by shipyards and design departments that handle large-scale, complex designs.

(*1) 3D CAD data: Three-dimensional design data created with CAD (computer-aided design) software. In shipbuilding, it represents the hull structure and the layout of piping and equipment in three dimensions, along with information such as dimensions and materials.

■ Background
Shipbuilding design involves reviewing drawings and specifications, as well as information such as the shapes and attributes of 3D models, and checking it against design requirements. The information involved is vast and wide-ranging, and these checks require a great deal of time and specialized expertise. Noahlogy is developing technology that uses AI to handle this design information and make designers’ review work more efficient.

■ Initiatives Using 3D CAD Data
Using AVEVA 3D model data, Noahlogy is conducting technical validation of data reading and visualization, as well as assessment based on check items, and has so far created a demo using 3D models.

Through these efforts, Noahlogy will expand the options for AI adoption that make use of existing design data for shipyards and design departments using 3D CAD.
