Product Manager
Decide what to build at the customer's front line — and own the outcome.
- プロダクトマネジメント
- BtoB SaaS
- LLM/AI
- 要件定義
- 造船×AI
What you'll do
- Define and prioritize problems through interviews with customers (shipyards and maritime companies) and a deep understanding of their operations
- Decide the product specs of the AI agent "Noah" and translate them into work for the engineering team
- Create customer-facing proposal materials and present them in sales meetings and on-site deployments
- Resolve issues stuck between sales and engineering (spec interpretation, priorities, expectation gaps)
- Support post-deployment adoption and feed real-world learnings back into the product
- * Expect travel to customer sites (mainly the Setouchi area) roughly half of each week
Must-haves
- Professional experience as a product manager on a B2B SaaS or enterprise product
- Experience defining specs yourself from direct customer interviews and driving them through to release
- Able to hold technical discussions with engineers (implementation experience not required; decisions must reflect an understanding of technical constraints)
- Able to explain and persuade — with documents and words — customers, management, and engineering alike
Nice to have
- Experience owning full responsibility for a product's success in a small product organization
- Domain experience with products for physical industries such as manufacturing, construction, logistics, or maritime (experience collaborating with shipyards, classification societies, or government agencies is especially welcome)
- Experience planning and specifying LLM / AI products
- Experience spanning roles beyond product, such as business development or customer success
Our strengths
- Industry focus — all-in on shipbuilding, compounding deep domain knowledge
- AI-agent native — built for real-world adoption, not PoC theater
- Speed & flexibility — a startup's agility and execution
- Social impact — solving skill succession × shorter build times
Who we're looking for
- Feels responsibility to customers as a joy, not a burden
- Goes and decides what is undecided — frames the open questions and closes them rather than waiting for instructions
- Enters the customer's workplace with respect and drives change grounded in real operations
- Has an "outlier" episode in life — going further than ordinary people would (any field)
- Has seen difficult situations through to the end, or pried doors open after repeated rejection
- Finds 0→1 in the most under-digitized giant industry genuinely exciting
Terms & employment
Full-time (3-month probation). Full flextime / remote OK. Location: Roppongi Hills Mori Tower, Minato-ku, Tokyo (relocating near Ōmori in 2027). Stock options available.
Why this role
This is not a role for processing handed-down requirements. Spend half the week in the customer's field, act as the hub between sales and engineering, and decide what we build — a top-priority hire shaping the very form of the product in a giant industry where existing playbooks don't apply.
Let's just talk first.
We start with a casual chat, not a formal screening. Reach out if this role interests you.
